Rea Tops Aragon WorldSBK Practice

ALCANIZ, Spain – Jonathan Rea continued to be the man to beat in World Superbike competition by toping the first day of practice on Friday at Motorland Aragon.

Rea ended the day by toping the practice charts with a 1:50.062, which came late in the second practice Friday afternoon. Rea has started the season with four-straight victories.

Marco Melandri from Racing – Ducati split Rea and his Kawasaki teammate Tom Sykes, who was third fastest on Friday at Aragon.


Chaz Davies was fourth fastest for Racing – Ducati, followed by Alex Lowes for Pata Yamaha. The top four drivers all set their fastest laps in the second practice, while Lowes set his fastest lap of the day in the opening practice.

Xavi Fores, Jordi Torres, Michael van der Mark, Eugene Laverty and Leandro Mercado completed the top-10 in practice.


Rea was also the fastest rider in the morning practice on Friday, leading the way with a 1:50.570.
