Nicky Hayden Sitting Out Jerez Test

JEREZ, Spain – American Nicky Hayden will sit out the two-day World Superbike winter test that gets underway Tuesday at Circuito de Jerez in Spain.

The 35-year-old American rider twisted his knee while doing some flat-track training near Barcelona, Spain, last Friday after completing the first winter test of the season at MotorLand Aragón.

Hayden has returned to America and will undergo further medical examinations Monday, which will give a complete diagnosis on the extent of the injury, before any decision regarding medical procedure is taken.

Hayden’s new teammate Stefan Bradl will be the sole rider carrying out testing duties with the Honda WorldSBK Team in Jerez following an his debut on the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP at MotorLand Aragón last week.
