DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – For the second time is as many days, a rider from Colombia won the AMA Pro Motorcycle-Superstore.com SuperSport race at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Tomas Puerta led six of 10 laps aboard his RoadRace Factory Racing Yamaha on Saturday to join countryman Stefano Masa as Daytona winners this weekend.

“I was trying to think about being in the lead on the last lap of the chicane,” Puerta said. “I changed my mind with two laps to go. On the last lap I just put my head down and didn’t care where everyone was at in the draft.

“I saw I had a little bit of a gap going through the horseshoe, and I just kept charging from there.”
