LAS VEGAS – BP Racing has announced the addition of the 2012 Daytona 200 winner Joey Pascarella, who will be competing in the GoPro Daytona SportBike class on the BP Racing Yamaha R6.
“We are honored to have such a talented young rider joining our team and believe that Joey can help develop our DSB bikes so we can run up front with the rest of the field,” said Team Owner Mike Hammett.
“After talking with Joey we knew it was a good fit, and we wanted to choose the option that was going to give us the best success in 2014,” said Team manager Ken Chewey. “We know Joey has proven results on the R6 and is extremely comfortable on the Yamaha. Joey will also be able to help Sebastiao Ferreira in Daytona SportBike by getting him used to going all out right from the start. This is a huge leap for BP Racing and we are all excited.”
“I am very excited for the 2014 season and I feel like the teaming up with BP Racing will be a good opportunity for me,” said Pascarella. “I really want to prove myself this year and get the results I know I can and with the bikes they have i believe I can. The team is new to the AMA Pro paddock and I think it’s going to be fun to help build there DSB program and I can’t wait to get the season under way.”
