DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – British Superbike Championship rider and multi-time AMA Pro SuperSport champion James Rispoli will contest the Harley-Davidson TT presented by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys at Daytona on a Richie Morris Racing-backed No. 143 RMR/Al Lamb’s Dallas Honda CRF450R.

“It’s going to be amazing to be back in the flat track paddock at Daytona,” said Rispoli. “I can’t thank my sponsors and Richie [Morris] enough for the opportunity. The whole TT idea came about when I went to Valentino Rossi’s ranch. I wanted to get some practice while in Florida in the weeks after that, and Johnny Lewis at 10Training lent me his Husky. I rode a local short track and was reminded how much I miss flat track racing. It’s going to be sweet.”

Rispoli grew up racing flat track in America prior to making the switch to road racing. For Daytona, he joins fellow RMR teammate Ryan Wells – who’ll ride the No. 94 RMR/Al Lamb’s Dallas Honda CRF450 – in the AFT Singles class, while Johnny Lewis will pilot RMR’s No. 10 McElroy Kawasaki Ninja 650 in AFT Twins presented by Vance & Hines.

“Flat track is in my blood,” Rispoli said. “I can’t wait to bring more European eyes to the sport. The craziest part is that I still know most everyone in the sport, and I’ll be racing with Ryan Wells, who I’ve helped my whole life. That will be the coolest thing… banging bars again with these guys. I started my career racing flat track, so it’s always cool to get the chance to get out on the dirt again. There are some really fast guys and gals out there, but I’m going to give it my best shot and enjoy it.”

Rispoli brings personal sponsors, Everquip Garage Equipment Ltd. (British Supersport Team sponsor) and 10Training to the RMR fold for the one-race partnership.

“We’re really excited to add James Rispoli to our already strong team for the DAYTONA TT,” said Morris. “After all, he’s a road racer, which I have plenty of history in, and he’ll be a serious threat to win the AFT Singles race given his background, right along with Ryan Wells. And of course you can’t ever count Johnny Lewis out on a Twin, so we are looking good this coming week.”

RMR will also be leaning on its experienced crew, including James Hart, Nick Daniels, Shane Hill and Larry Fulton as well as several sponsors.

“We’ve got some amazing sponsors for 2018,” Morris said. “We literally couldn’t do this without them. They, along with what I feel is the best combination of riders, machines and crew, will help us reach for our goals this year, which are AFT Singles and AFT Twins championships.”
