MOORESVILLE, N.C. — National Speed Sport News, which relaunched in March with an all-new monthly magazine, has partnered with Emmy-award winning producer Jim Roller to spearhead its video, television and production efforts under the SPEED SPORT TV flag.
Roller, who has enjoyed a 31-year career in broadcasting, has produced or directed programs for three major networks (ABC, NBC and CBS) as well as every major cable entity in the United States (ESPN, TNN, USA, TBS Superstation, FOX Sports and SPEED). He has produced pay-per-view programs including NASCAR Winston Cup racing, boxing, college football and basketball.
While spearheading the development of the new SPEED SPORT TV and its related initiatives, Roller will continue in his role as senior producer for the American Le Mans Series, which airs on the FOX Media group and the ESPN family of networks in 2013.
Turn 3 Media, LLC, a North Carolina company founded by motorsports media veterans Ralph Sheheen, Curt Moon and Joe Tripp, continues to advance its aggressive strategy to provide comprehensive motorsports news and information to fans across all forms of media.
“National Speed Sport News is the most trusted name in American motorsports journalism and soon we’ll be taking the brand to areas never dreamed of just a few years ago,” said Sheheen. “As more fans get their motorsports video from a wide variety of sources, it’s imperative that SPEED SPORT works to serve those fans on their terms. Jim Roller is the ideal person to lead our company into that arena.”
SPEED SPORT TV will include an online video channel featuring on-demand and streaming events, professional video and television production services, and will also develop and produce programs for broadcast.
The group plans to announce additional details at IMIS 2012 in Indianapolis Dec. 6-8.
