FAST FEMALES

Sprint car driver Harli White and stock car racer Gracie Trotter made history with victories in their respective series.

White became the first woman to win a Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Serie National Tour feature when she topped the July 11 event at Riverside Int’l Speedway in West Memphis, Ark.

“I can’t thank my parents and Johnny (Herrera, crew chief) enough for believing in me and always pushing me and everyone on this car,” White said. “Without them, none of this would be possible.”

With her Sept. 26 ARCA Menards Series West victory at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Trotter became the first woman to win an ARCA-sanctioned race.

“I’m at a loss for words right now. My first year in ARCA, out west, far from home — it just really means a lot to me,” Trotter said.
