MILESTONE VICTORY

After a drought that stretched more than two years, Corvette Racing finally collected its 100th IMSA victory during the July 4 WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round at Florida’s Daytona Int’l Speedway.

Antonio Garcia shared the cockpit of the winning No. 3 Corvette C8.R with Jordan Taylor, giving the team its first victory since April 2018.

“This win is twice as special for Chevrolet, as Corvette Racing has now achieved 100 victories in IMSA competition. It also is the first for the new mid-engine Corvette C8.R in just its second race,” said Jim Campbell, Chevrolet’s U.S. vice president of performance and motorsports. “This milestone win belongs to everyone who has been part of the Corvette program over the years, our Corvette owners and our fans.”

By the end of October, the two-car Corvette Racing team had upped the win total to 105.
