3. Doug Kalitta
Doug Kalitta, who won last year’s season finale at California’s Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, opened the NHRA Top Fuel season by winning the Lucas Oil Winternationals at the legendary drag strip. Kalitta then lost in the finals during race two at Arizona’s Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park.
