NEAR Hall Ceremony Jan. 30

EAST WINDSOR, Conn. — Nine auto-racing legends will be inducted into the New England Auto Racer’s Hall of Fame during a ceremony scheduled for Jan. 30 at LaRenaissance Banquet Hall.

Drivers Punky Caron, Dan Meservey, Russ Nutting and Jerry Dolliver; car owners Rich and Ray Garuti, Stanley Matczak, Vic Kangas; and Speedway Scene publisher Val Lesieur make up the class of 2011.

Racer Of The Week

Billy Pauch showed his skills in a big-block modified and a small-block modified by sweeping both divisions during the annual Delaware State Dirt Track Championship at Delaware Int’l Speedway in Delmar, Del., Friday and Saturday. The victories were his third (big-block) and fifth (small-block) victories in the events, worth a combined $12,588 to the modified veteran.
