Butch Schroeder drove away from the field in dominant fashion Sept. 8, 2001 at Ohio’s Fremont Speedway, winning the 40-lap All Star Circuit of Champions sprint car feature.
The Chuck Kear Memorial race paid $6,000 to Schroeder for his first All Star triumph of the season. It was also manufacturer’s night,. with more than $7,400 ·in parts given away to the All Star drivers and $3,800 to the 305 sprint car drivers.
“I love Fremont Speedway and I love the All Stars,” Schroeder said. “I can’t say enough of Stan Courtad, Scott and the crew. My Kinster engine ran smooth tonight and the car drove so nice all night long. We learned something about our American Racer tires last night. We put the right American Racer tires on tonight and that was the difference.”
