INDIANAPOLIS – Juncos Racing has announced that Russian driver Artem Petrov will join the team for the full Indy Pro 2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires.
Petrov is the first driver named to the reigning Indy Pro 2000 Championship team.
“I am very happy to announce that I will be racing with Juncos Racing in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship,” said Petrov. “I have had a great time testing with the team over the past few months and I feel really comfortable with them. I am looking forward to a great season.”
Artem made his first attempt at the Road to Indy in 2019. He competed in a total of three race events, starting on the oval at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway and ending on the winding road course at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Before joining the Road to Indy, Petrov competed in the FIA F3 Championship and the F4 Italian Championship. The 2020 season will be the first time the 20-year old will contest the full Indy Pro 2000 Championship presented by Cooper Tires.
“We are excited to announce our first driver, Artem Petrov, to our 2020 Indy Pro 2000 driver line-up,” team owner Ricardo Juncos said. “With the experience he brings and the relationship he has already built within our team throughout the past few months, I believe we will have a successful year.
“I want to thank Artem and his family for their commitment to Juncos Racing and look forward to building a long relationship.”
