USAC Silver Crown race winner and former Indy NXT competitor Davey Hamilton Jr. is set to pilot an HMD Motorsports entry at the Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway on Thursday for a test, the team revealed Monday morning on social media.
Looking to make a possible return to Indy NXT competition, Hamilton will drive the Open Wheel Showdown / Morgan Exteriors / Impact Racing Products / Ripprint Custom Clothing No. 11 machine in the one-day test.
Hamilton, also a promotor of the Open Wheel Showdown, competes primarily aboard a winged asphalt sprint car. He won a USAC Silver Crown race at Illinois’ World Wide Technology Raceway last season.
