In need of a fresh start, Alexander Rossi got just that this season as he moved to Arrow McLaren after a seven-year run with Andretti Autosport.
The 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner finished ninth in the NTT IndyCar Series standings with one podium finish (third) in May at the Gallagher Grand Prix in Indianapolis.
Despite a winless season for the third time in his last four seasons, Rossi showed plenty of consistency throughout the 17-race season.
Between Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park in April to the series’ annual trip to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in July, Rossi reeled off six-straight top-10 finishes.
During that hot streak, Rossi capped off a strong month of May with a fifth-place run in the Indianapolis 500. It was the 32-year-old’s sixth top-10 finish in eight Indy 500 starts.
While a second-half falter pushed Rossi and the No. 7 Chevrolet team back in the standings, three finishes of seventh or better in the final four races vaulted Rossi to ninth by season’s end.
Next season will be Rossi’s ninth full-time season in the series.
