PATASKALA, Ohio – Jack Harvey will not return to Meyer Shank Racing following the conclusion of the NTT IndyCar Series season.
The team confirmed Harvey’s departure Thursday while also announcing that four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves would join the team for a full season NTT IndyCar Series effort next year.
The team plans to field two cars next season, one for Castroneves and a second car for a driver to be announced later.
“We wish Jack much success and we know he will continue to be a driver to watch,” said Meyer Shank Racing co-owner Mike Shank. “MSR is excited to have Helio in the No. 06 car next season and we’re looking forward to adding a driver, who will turn heads in the 60 car.”
Harvey has been a part of Meyer Shank Racing’s NTT IndyCar Series program since the team made its debut in 2017. After running partial seasons from 2017 to ’19, the team ran the full NTT IndyCar Series schedule for the first time last season with Harvey wheeling the No. 60 Honda.
The 28-year-old Englishman has earned one podium in 43 NTT IndyCar Series starts, a third-place finish during the IndyCar Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course in 2019. In 10 races this year, Harvey has earned a best finish of fourth, which came during the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Fla., on April 25.
