Alexander Rossi had successful surgery on his right thumb following a practice crash on Friday in Toronto.
The Arrow McLaren driver was forced to miss Sunday’s Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto as he underwent surgery.
Rossi revealed the latest on social media, stating, “Yesterday morning’s surgery on my thumb was successful. I am so thankful to everyone at IndyCar medical and IU Methodist for the quick timeline.
“Feeling good and will share more news when able. Also, typing with my left hand is hard.”

Prior to his injury, Rossi was eighth in the standings with one podium finish at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California.
Rossi’s No. 7 Chevrolet was driven by Théo Pourchaire on Sunday, who competed for Arrow McLaren in five races. He finished 14th at Toronto.
There is no timetable for Rossi’s return, nor has Arrow McLaren announced a potential replacement. The NTT IndyCar Series World Wide Technology Raceway in Illinois next month.
