INDIANAPOLIS — Strike, LLC, one of North America’s leading energy services provider, has signed on as a major associate sponsor of A.J. Foyt’s No. 41 ABC Supply Indy car driven by 21-year-old Conor Daly in the Indianapolis 500.
Strike’s first foray into motorsports takes place on its most prestigious stage—the Indianapolis Motor Speedway — with AJ Foyt Racing, the team that is currently leading the IZOD IndyCar Series standings with Takuma Sato and the No. 14 ABC Supply Honda.
Steve Pate, Chairman and CEO of Strike, said, “Many of us in the Strike family are race enthusiasts and the opportunity to sponsor an Indy car is very exciting! We are looking forward to working with the Foyt Team and anxious to cheer Conor on to victory.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome Strike to our team and to the Indianapolis 500,” said Team Director Larry Foyt. “We appreciate their support and the opportunity to introduce them to the world’s fastest race. We’ll do our best to make it a memorable experience for them and their clients.”
Daly, the Indiana native who has raced on four continents in his young career, will be making his first start in the 97th Running of the world’s most historic race. Daly is the son of race driver Derek Daly, who competed in both Formula 1 and Indy cars before retiring in 1989.
The red, white and blue Strike lightning bolt logos are located near the cockpit and on the nose of the red, white and blue No. 41 car. When Daly saw the decal applied, he simply said: “Cool!”
