Off-Track Functions For Indy 500 Canceled

IRVING, Texas — For the second year in a row, all off-track functions for the Indianapolis 500 have been canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This news was revealed in an email sent by the Indianapolis 500 Old Timers Ass’n on Friday.

“Unfortunately we must once again cancel the annual BBQ this year,” the email statement read. “All off track activities around the 500 have once again been postponed from the mini-marathon, parade, Dairy Ass’n rookie luncheon, collectible show, pit stop competition, victory dinner, the IMS Hall of Fame and Oldtimers Recognition Dinner. A few of these events will be held virtually, but in most cases just postponed until next year.”

Members of the Oldtimers will still have access to their hospitality room.
