Flex-Box Backs Scuderia Corsa In IndyCar Opener

LAS VEGAS – Scuderia Corsa has welcomed Hong-Kong based shipping conglomerate Flex-Box as the team’s sponsor for the NTT IndyCar Series opener this weekend in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Ed Jones will drive the No. 20 entry for Scuderia Corsa, who is fielding the team in partnership with Ed Carpenter Racing. While this is Jones first race with Scuderia Corsa, it will be his third appearance in the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg.

“It’s always exciting to start a new season,” Jones said. “We’ve put in a lot of effort to be ready for St. Pete. Testing could have gone a little better for us but sometimes it works out in your favor to have that happen. You sort of get the issues figured out so that you can have a good race at the start. Hopefully, that’s the case for us. I’ve had decent results at St. Pete in years past. I’d like to build on that this year, obviously the goal is always to win, but we’ll see.”

Scuderia Corsa made its IndyCar debut during the 2018 running of the Indianapolis 500 with Oriol Servia driving the No. 64 entry in partnership with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.

Servia led 16 laps late in the race before being forced to pit for fuel, finishing 17th. This year Scuderia Corsa has partnered with Ed Carpenter Racing and Jones to contest the full IndyCar schedule.
