Chilton Back With Carlin For Partial IndyCar Slate

INDIANAPOLIS – Max Chilton will return to Carlin for a partial season in the NTT IndyCar Series this year.

The 28-year-old British racer is slated to compete during at all of the road and street course events as well as the Indianapolis 500 in May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His No. 59 will continue to carry sponsorship from Gallagher.

This will be Chilton’s third season with Carlin after spending the 2016-17 seasons with Chip Ganassi Racing. He was originally scheduled to run the full IndyCar Series schedule last year, but chose to stop competing on ovals in early June to focus on road and street events.

In 62 NTT IndyCar Series races since 2016, he has a career-best finish of fourth, which came during the 2017 running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when he led a race-high 50 laps.

Carlin has not announced who Chilton will share the No. 59 entry with this season.
