GRENOBLE, France – Former Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher remains in a medically induced coma a week after being seriously injured in a skiing accident in the French Alps.
Schumacher, who turned 45 on Friday, remains in critical but stable condition. The German racing champion suffered severe head trauma during the accident last Sunday and has since undergone two operations to relieve swelling to his brain.
On Friday Schumacher’s family turned over a helmet camera that Schumacher was wearing during the incident to investigators looking into the incident. It is not known if the camera was turned on at the time or what exactly investigators are looking for.
An update to Schumacher’s condition is expected sometime Monday.
