Hamilton Tops Hungarian Practice Charts


BUDAPEST, Hungary – Lewis Hamilton topped the speed charts following a pair of Formula One practice sessions Friday at the Hungaroring.

Hamilton was fastest in both practice session. In the first practice he topped out at 1:25.814, but he bettered that in the second practice at 1:24.482. He was followed in both practice sessions by his Mercedes teammate and Formula One World Championship leader Nico Rosberg.

Defending Formula One World Champion Sebastian Vettel got closest to the Mercedes pair with a 1:25.111. Fernando Alonso remained a threat with a 1:25.437 for Ferrari, with Kevin Magnussen on his tail with at 1:25.580 and Kimi Raikkonen within striking distance in the other Ferrari at 1:25.730.

Raikkonen was third fastest in the opening practice of the day behind the two Mercedes drivers, followed by Alonso and Vettel.
