Rini Proves To Be Big Dog

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Chris Rini scored a $50,000 payday with a victory in the North-South Big Dog Shootout at Piedmont Dragway Saturday.

Rini, a survivor of the Hudson River plane crash in New York earlier this year, bested Travis Harvey in the Big Dog finals with a run at more than 176 miles per hour.

Harvey also put his name in the record books earlier in the day by setting a new Big Dog record with a run more than 179 mph in his semi-final victory of Jason Harris.
