LAKELAND, Fla. – Feb. 8 marks the date for the Florida edition of the “Get On The List – Top 10 Event” hosted by promoter Joe Miller and The Florida Street Outlaws.
This race is the first attempt at making a top 10 list of the baddest street outlaw cars in the sunshine state. Unlike illegal street racing, the Get On The List race will be held in a controlled and safe environment, namely, the Lakeland (Fla.) Dragstrip. All cars must be currently titled and registered in the state of Florida. No tube chassis are allowed and other than required safety gear, there aren’t many more rules.
The track is scraped to the concrete and no further prep is done. No times are shown, just a win light and all match ups are random.
“We are committed to taking street racing to the track in a safe and secure manner,” said Miller.
RaceQuip, a racing safety equipment manufacturer out of Tampa Fla., is the presenting sponsor.
“Anytime we can move racing from the street to the track, everyone wins,” said RaceQuip President Patrick Utt.
The event motto is “no clocks, no prep, no problem…put them in the beams and let them go.”
