During the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing season finale, it was Matt Hagan who came out on top of the three-horse battle for the Funny Car championship.
Though title contenders Robert Hight and Bob Tasca III put up quite the fight, Hagan’s series-leading six wins were enough to allow the Tony Stewart Racing driver to secure his fourth career Funny Car championship and the first for the TSR nitro team.
Hight, Tasca III, Ron Capps, Tim Wilkerson, Blake Alexander, J.R. Todd and Chad Green also claimed victory during the 21-race season. Capps won the prestigious U.S. Nationals for the second year in a row.
