SONOMA, Calif. – DrinkHard Racing, a popular lifestyle brand with close ties to several of NHRA’s biggest stars, will support Pro Stock Motorcycle rider John Hall as he continues his quest for the 2014 NHRA Mello Yello championship.
The DrinkHard Racing logo will appear on Hall’s Matt Smith Racing-owned Buell beginning with this weekend’s Sonoma Nationals in Sonoma, Calif. Hall will also continue his support of Doug Herbert’s B.R.A.K.E.S. Foundation, a non-profit organization that teaches teens to adapt responsible driving habits.
“I’m grateful to have the support of the DrinkHard Racing crew,” said Hall. “They are a fun bunch of guys who really enjoy what they do. We’re coming up to a critical time of the season with the Countdown approaching and every bit of support we can get is going to help us in the battle for the championship. I will keep the B.R.A.K.E.S. logo on the bike because I believe very strongly in their mission to teach teens about responsible driving. I’m also very happy to announce that DrinkHard Racing will be donating a portion of their merchandise sales to Mothers Against Drunk Driving. I am honored to be associated with two great organizations that share a commitment to making our streets safer.”
Hall, of Hamden, Conn., has appeared in three semifinals this season and is currently ranked No. 5 in the Mello Yello standings. He can clinch his spot in the Countdown to the Championship with a strong showing at this weekend’s event in Sonoma.
Hall is also qualified for the Miramonte Pro Bike Battle, a special $25,000 to win invitational event that is reserved for the top eight riders in the class based on qualifying performance. That race will take place on Saturday, July 26.
“We are very excited to have the opportunity to come on board and work with John Hall,” said Dr. Don Fuqua, who founded and co-owns DHR along with the brand’s creative director, Bob Kuhar. “Thanks to [team owner] Matt Smith, John has the equipment necessary to win every weekend and we are glad to be a part of that. We have been watching John race for the last two seasons and we’re impressed by his performance, particularly his win at the U.S. Nationals last year.
“We’ve also been blessed to have a great response to the entire DrinkHard Racing program,” said Fuqua. “We have a lot of supporters who love the high octane intensity of NHRA racing as much as we do and we felt that the next logical step to increase our brand awareness was to partner with a top ten NHRA pro and we feel like John is the perfect person to make that happen.”
