POMONA, Calif. — Reigning NHRA Top Fuel world champion Brittany Force was released from the hospital Monday after a violent crash Sunday at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
Force’s Monster Energy dragster went out of control during her pass in the first round of eliminations during the NHRA Winternationals, made contact with the guard wall and came to rest past the finish line. She was responsive, speaking with medical personnel, and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
She has shown no lingering effects from the incident except for some upper body soreness. Force will continue to recuperate at home. A CT Scan was negative and the MRI showed subtle findings likely from previous injuries. She was admitted overnight for observation as a precaution.
