NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. — The Riggs family and World of Outlaws Late Model Series driver Brandon Sheppard have announced the joint venture known as Sheppard Riggs Racing will expire at the conclusion of the dirt late model season Nov. 6-9 at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
After a successful two-year tenure together, both sides have mutually agreed not to exercise their third-year contractual option.
“We’re very proud of what we’ve been able to do together in the last 2 years,” said Scott and Jason Riggs. “We knew from the very start just how important it was for Brandon to be home close to the family, but still have a business partner who could support the team competing on a national tour while he transitioned into a new phase of his career.
“It has been a pleasure watching him drive our cars and win in big moments like the Silver Dollar Nationals, The Dome, East Bay, and most recently during a Prelim of the Prairie Dirt Classic. For our family and our representation as the Longhorn Factory Team, Brandon has helped put us in victory lane and kept us in the hunt for a National Championship this year which is every team’s goal at the start of the year.”
Following the conclusion of the season, Sheppard Riggs Racing will rebrand as Riggs Motorsports and continue its alignment with Longhorn Chassis as the Longhorn Factory Team.
“It’s been a fun and good run with the Longhorn Factory Team and Riggs Racing, but we’ve amicably decided to go our separate ways at the end of this season. There’s no hard feelings or drama, we just all are looking to different goals for 2025,” Sheppard said. “Steve Arpin and the Riggs Family have been good to me, and they’ll always be great friends. I wish those guys nothing but the best of luck, and I’m fully focused on ending our tenure together with a World of Outlaws title.”
Sheppard is working on details of his racing plans for the 2025 campaign.
“We are going to open the 2025 season at the Wild West Shootout in New Mexico in my family-owned B5, and then past that point we are still looking to lock some things down. I’m open to marketing partners, who might be looking to get involved with my racing endeavors,” Sheppard said.
Sheppard holds a 54-point lead in the World of Outlaws CASE Construction Late Model Series standings.
