CONCORD, N.C. — Nobody had anything for Jimmy Owens.
Continuing a late-season winning streak, Owens, who won Friday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series race during the PEAK Motor Oil World of Outlaws World Finals, backed it up with a dominant performance in Saturday’s season finale for the series.
Owens took the lead on lap five of the four-tenths-mile oval and raced unchallenged during the remainder of the 50-lap event for his second victory in as many nights.
Owens, who won the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for the second straight year, won the Dixie Shootout, World Dirt Track Championship and Cotton Pickin’ 100 during the month of October.
Owens backed it up by sweeping the late model portion of the World Finals for the second consecutive year
“The car has been awesome all week,” said Owens. “With a car this good, any of the fans could have driven this car and won with it tonight, it was just such a great car. It is pretty awesome to win four in a row here.”
Tim McCreadie worked his way from ninth to finish second with WoO LMS champion Darrell Lanigan finishing third.
Chris Madden and Clint Smith completed the top five.
