Hoosier Dirt Shootout To Be Completed Oct. 23

CONCORD, N.C. — The World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series will complete the previously postponed Hoosier Dirt Shootout at Kokomo Speedway on Oct. 23.

The event was stopped by rain on Aug. 1 prior to the Last Chance Showdown. The winner of the main event will receive $25,000.

The new date makes for a doubleheader weekend with the World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series and Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals on Oct. 23 and the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars on Oct. 24.

The first night of the Hoosier Dirt Shootout on July 31 saw Jimmy Owens and Brandon Sheppard score Showdown feature wins to punch their tickets into the $25,000-to-win feature.

In all, 16 drivers are locked into the 75-lap feature. Six of those drivers were part of the Morton Buildings redraw, with Ricky Thornton Jr. drawing the pole, with Chase Junghans starting second beside him.
