OCALA, Fla. — Kyle Strickler held off four-time track champion Jeff Mathews to win Friday night’s UMP modified feature at Bubba Raceway Park.
Strickler led early, but was slowed by several yellow flags during the middle stages of the race. Mathews made his way to the front and passed Strickler on lap 25. But the North Carolina traveler rallied back to the front on lap 27 and led to the checkered flag after 35 laps of the three-eighths-mile oval.
Mathews finished second, ahead of Thursday night winner Kyle Bronson, Bart Hartman and Curt Myers.
Davey Kinsey won the V-8 thunderstock feature.
