MACON, Ill. – Brian Shirley won his fourth Hell Tour feature event Thursday night at Macon Speedway.
The victory was Shirley’s first ever Herald & Review 100 win at the tiny oval worth $5,000.
Shirley held off defending race winner Shannon Babb of nearby over the final 30 laps of the main event to score the win.
With his fourth victory which is the most on tour in 2012, Shirley will unofficially extend his point lead over Babb to 29 markers with eight races remaining on tour.
Defending DIRTcar Late Model Nationals Champion Ryan Unzicker finished third. Brandon Sheppard rallied from 18th to finish fourth while his father Steve Sheppard, Jr. also rounded out the top five.
The tour returns to action Friday night at Quincy Raceways in Quincy, Ill., for a $7,500-to-win main event.
