ABILENE, Texas — The IMCA tour will open the new season with a Texas Lone Star Series tripleheader in conjunction with Abilene Speedway’s Feb. 21-23 Ice Breaker.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday features will be run for the IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, Scoggin-Dickey Parts Center Southern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks.
Nine tour dates are scheduled for the modifieds, stock cars and southern sportmods, with champions crowned and bonus points awarded in each division.
IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks return to the series schedule after a one-year hiatus. Because only seven dates are scheduled for that class, no point fund will be paid, but the top driver in the standings will be recognized as champion and receive a plaque and jacket.
IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing national, regional and Allstar Performance state points will be awarded at all Lone Star Series shows.
Kennedale (Texas) Speedway Park’s Spring Kick-Off March 1-2 will feature the modifieds, stock cars and southern sportmods. Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Mott, Texas, hosts all four divisions in a pre-Memorial Day event on May 25.
A very busy Independence Weekend sees the series at Cotton Bowl Speedway in Paige, Texas, on July 3 before concluding with Texas Nationals dates July 4-5 at Heart O’ Texas.
Top drivers in the modified, stock Car and hobby stock series become eligible to compete in their respective race of champions during the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals.
