Tim Allen Has The Tools At Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — In the 50th Carolina Clash event at Fayetteville Motor Speedway, Tim Allen took the lead on the opening lap and fought in and out of traffic to end his Carolina Clash winless streak that goes back to October 2009.

The win was his second at Fayetteville and fifth on tour. Allen, in his Warrior Race Car and Gray Motorsports entry, was fast. Johnny Pursley started the race from the pole position as he was the fastest qualifier for the event. Pursley was not able to get up to speed on the initial start and he settled into the third position.

Allen and the leaders had to race in and out of lapped traffic at lap 12, when the first caution of the race flew in turns one and two, when a five car spin brought the race to yellow.

Allen resumed his dominance over the course of the next few restarts and was never challenged. Scott Autry passed two cars from fifth starting spot to run third. Kennie Compton and Ross Bailes rounded out the top five.
