Spring Nationals Weekend Pushed Back By COVID-19

BRASSTOWN, N.C. — Officials with Boyd’s Speedway, Senoia Raceway and the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels have announced the postponement of this weekend’s events due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

With the best interest of the communities, and racing families, and after much consideration and consultation with state and local governments, the decision has been made to postpone the Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series events to April 17-18.

Series promoter Ray Cook was optimistic for the future.

“Hopefully everything will get back to some sort of normalcy between now and then and when we get back to racing, it’ll be full blast,” said Cook.

The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series will now open the season on Friday, April 10 at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, Va., with a $10,000-to-win event.

That race will be followed by the Bill Corum Memorial on Saturday, April 11 at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway, which pays $21,000 to win and is co-sanctioned with the Schaeffer’s Oil Iron-Man Late Model Series.
