FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. — The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series was scheduled to race at the Waycross (Ga.) Motor Speedway on Sept. 6, but new track promoter Darryl Courson wanted to move the date to the Golden Isle Speedway in Brunswick, Ga., on Oct. 4.
Due to more scheduling conflicts and the lack of dates available for the remaining schedule at Golden Isle both parties agreed to cancel this years event and work on bringing the Southern All Stars back to the southern part of Georgia in 2015 with the scheduling of two dates at the Golden Isle Speedway.
“We just has some scheduling conflicts come up and we decided it was best for all involved to cancel this years race and work with the Southern All Stars and bring them back a couple of times next year,” said Golden Isle promoter Courson. “Working with the series and getting to look at what they already have booked for 2015 and to look at our schedule will work be better for both of us and we have more time to promote the Golden Isle events.
The next Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event will be on Saturday night September 20th at the Smoky Mt Speedway in Maryville, Tenn., for the Smoky Mountain Speedway Hall Of Fame event. The Southern All Stars will be running a 40 lap. $5,000 to win event that night.
