Schrader Tops IMCA Stock Car Field

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — On night five of the Ernie Mincy Early Thaw at Central Arizona Raceway, the ultimate racer graced victory lane.

Missouri native and longtime NASCAR racer Ken Schrader claimed the 20-lap IMCA stock car main event.

Starting outside the front row, the four-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and former USAC Silver Crown champion, held off Jason Rogers for his first victory of the season.

At age 68, Schrader is as enthused about racing as he’s ever been and showed it on Friday night.

Rogers finished second, followed by Bo Partain, Josh Cain and Trent Grager.

Canadian late model racer Ricky Weiss raced from the pole to win the 25-lap IMCA late model feature.

Scott Ward, Dustin Strand, Tyler Peterson and Collen Winebarger followed.

Ricky Alvarado also started on the pole en route to winning the modified feature ahead of Jeff Taylor.

Blake Adams topped the limited modified feature and Tyler Johnson claimed the SportMod main event.

The event was broadcast by SPEED SPORT affiliate IMCA.tv.
