CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. – For the first time in series history, the RUSH Late Models will compete at the Land of Legends Raceway next year.
The Pace Performance Weekly Series special will take place on Saturday, Sept. 11 and will offer $1,000 to-win and $125 to-start. Though typically known for its modified divisions, the RUSH Late Models will headline the special full-bodied program at the half-mile oval on Sept. 11.
Lands of Legends will become the 13th different track in the Empire State to host a RUSH Late Model event in series history. RUSH member drivers will be able to race at the Land of Legends event and accumulate points towards the National Weekly Series Championship.
“Land of Legends is a historic speedway in New York and we’re thrilled to be able to showcase our brand of racing there,” said RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “Over the years, racers have always inquired about the possibility of taking RUSH to Land of Legends. Promoter Paul Cole contacted us about bringing RUSH to his facility, and we’re excited for the opportunity to compete there. The Sept. 11 date became available with Weedsport holding a big two-day event for modifieds and other area tracks shutting down, so it opened the door for Land of Legends. A very nice purse has been posted by Land of Legends for this inaugural event.”
“At the Land of Legends in 2021, our goal is to raise the bar for local dirt racing,” said Land of Legends Raceway Promoter Paul Cole. “We are doing this through providing our racers with an improved surface, facility and showing all of this off to our fans all across the world with enhanced video coverage on Land of Legends TV. To keep putting on the best show for our fans, we had adding the RUSH Late Models high on our list. We are thrilled to be able to partner with RUSH and Vicki (Emig) to make this happen for their racers and our fans. This will be a show to remember as we write a new ‘legend’ in the longstanding history of our facility.”
