CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series and Greenville Speedway officials have changed the July 12-13 event at the quarter-mile gumbo clay oval in Greenville, Miss., from a two-day $5,000-to-win show to a pair of races for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division. The two races will be a part of the Rumble On The Gumbo Nationals.
On Friday night, July 12, the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Division will compete in a 40-lap $2,000-to-win race at Greenville Speedway, and then come back on Saturday night, July 13 with a 50-lap $2,500-to-win event.
The two-race Rumble On The Gumbo Nationals are scheduled to be rounds 14 and 15 of the 2013 NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Touring Division season.
The race was originally scheduled to be the $5,000-to-win third annual Rumble On The Gumbo 75 for this past April, but the event was rained out and rescheduled three times before landing on the July 12-13 dates.
Series and track officials decided the two-race format would be a better scenario during the summer months.
