BOONE, Iowa — Mother Nature tossed a monkey wrench into the schedule for the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s at Boone Speedway on Tuesday.
It began raining with three laps left in the ninth hobby stock heat, forcing track officials to halt the action until Mother Nature would cooperate. IMCA officials moved the start time of Tuesday’s program up two hours in an effort to get as much of the program in as possible due to weather concerns.
Racing finally resumed late Tuesday evening and continued into Wednesdsay morning, but it began raining again and that forced officials to postpone the remainder of the program.
In all, 14 hobby stock heats, six sport compact heats and five Northern sportmod heats were completed before the program was halted. Fifteen Northern sportmod heats, two Northern sportmod qualifiers, a hobby stock qualifier and the sport compact championship feature remain.
Exact details regarding the schedule for Wednesday and the plans to complete the remaining races from Tuesday have yet to be announced by IMCA. However, a live broadcast from the Super Nationals is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. CT (1 p.m. ET) on IMCA.TV.
Tyler Sobiesczyk, Ben Chapman, Rocky Caudle, Colton Nelson and Curtis Veber won the five Northern sportmod heats completed before the program was stopped.
The 14 hobby stock heats were won by Keeran Sampson, Darin Johnson, Jesse Vanlaningham, Travis Blythe, Wayne Gifford, Anthony Nelson, Dawson Deboer, Tom Killen Jr., Jeff Ware, Jake Benischek, Brandon Cox, Kyle Davis, Nathan Ballard and Parker Anderson.
The six sport compact heats were won by Ramsey Meyer, Brandon Reu, Jake Benischek, Lucas Parsons, Chuck Fullenkamp and Jerry Coopman.
