ENID, Okla. – Damian Patocka grabbed the early lead then held off defending champion Kip Hughes to win the Sooner Late Model Series feature Saturday at Enid Speedway.
Polesitter Gary Lowe jumped into the early lead only to give it up to Patocka on lap four. Patocka, who started outside the third row, was chased early on by 18-year old Hayden Ross.
Ross suffered mechanical issues on lap 17 and pulled out. Hughes was able to work his way into second on lap 21 but could not challenge Patocka.
Adam Poff chased Hughes to a third-place finish followed by Sammy Wilson and Jason Redman in fourth and fifth.
