WHEATLAND, Mo. – Special weeknight racing returns to Lucas Oil Speedway Wednesday with Lucas Oil MLRA Mid-Week Mayhem Plus Midwest Mods.
It’ll be the first appearance for the MLRA Late Models at the series’ home track after the MLRA Spring Nationals were postponed in April and the 28th annual Lucas Oil Show-Me 100 Presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com was postponed from Memorial Day Weekend until July 18.
“Of course we have our Big Adventure RV Weekly Racing Series program this Saturday night, but we want to remind everyone of the upcoming Wednesday show,” Lucas Oil Speedway General Manager Danny Lorton said. “This is a great chance to catch the MLRA Late Models on a weeknight as their season is just kicking into high gear.
“The Midwest Mods have been asking to run at Lucas Oil Speedway for a long time and the response leading into this race has been outstanding. We look for a big field that will be sure to put on a show for the fans.”
As of Thursday afternoon, 49 Midwest Mods already had entered. Drivers must preregister on MyRacePass as no entries will be taken at the track the day of the event.
The Lucas Oil MLRA Late Models will run for $3,000 to win the feature while the Midwest Mods will go after a $300-to-win top prize.
Shannon Babb, Chris Simpson and Billy Moyer picked up feature wins last weekend as the MLRA Series opened its season. Simpson leads the early points by 10 over Moyer with 2018 MLRA champion Chad Simpson in third, 35 behind.
