McIntosh Goes On A Rome Speedway Cruise

ROME, Ga. — Donald McIntosh was set on cruise control during Sunday’s Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series by Sunoco Race Fuels event at Rome Speedway.

The driver of the Blount Motorsports-owned entry claimed his third series victory of the season while also claiming his sixth series payday.

McIntosh drove the Blount Excavating, Ole Ben Franklin Motors, Stower’s CAT, Massey Electric and Food City-sponsored Vic Hill Racing Engines-powered Rocket Chassis to the $5,000 victory.

McIntosh and overall fast time driver Ricky Weiss brought the field down to the green flag and the 50-lapper was underway with McIntosh grabbing the point early on.

McIntosh was never really challenged for the lead but great battles during the main event for second between eventual runner-up Casey Roberts, Tanner English and Ricky Weiss while running second before he brought out the caution on the 27th circuit.

McIntosh would go on for the payday while Casey Roberts finished second, first-timer to Rome Speedway Tanner English finished third, series points leader Dale McDowell was fourth and Ricky Weiss rallied from the tail to finish fifth.

The finish:

Donald McIntosh, Casey Roberts, Tanner English, Dale McDowell, Ricky Weiss, Chris Ferguson, Tyler Millwood, Ross Bailes, Jason Croft, Forrest Trent, Tod Hernandez, Joey Armistead, Matt Dooley, Cla Knight, Brandon Overton, Michael Page, Tom Maddox, Buster Goss.
