BOONE, Iowa — Jake McBirnie’s week at Boone Speedway just keeps getting better and better.
The two-car star led 26 of 30 laps, including the last 22 circuits, in winning Thursday night’s B & B Racing Chassis Stock Car All-Star Invitational
“What a deal and what a field of cars,” said a smiling McBirnie, already the winner of a Friesen Performance IMCA Modified feature during the Saturday NAPA Auto Parts Double Down Prelude and of an IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s Stock Car qualifying feature on Wednesday.
“I had a good race there for a while with Shelby (Williams) there for a while,” continued McBirnie, who started the 30-car, 30-lap event from fourth. “He kind of showed me the top and I just figured I’d throw a slider there and try to hold onto it.”
McBirnie earned $1,000 along with $650 in lap money courtesy of Elmquist Towing along with a powder coated chassis valued at $7,995 from title sponsor B & B for his efforts.
Luke Lemmens, Kevin Opheim and Williams each enjoyed short turns in the lead before McBirnie moved to the front for good.
The only caution came out at midway and 12th starting Casey Woken took over the runner-up spot following the restart.
There would be plenty of changes in the running order behind the leader over the last half of the race, but Woken, 17th-starting Kelly Shryock, Williams and Dallon Murty could not catch up and finished in that order behind McBirnie.
Shryock had won the inaugural invitational in 2021, defending race winner Murty was fifth after starting 27th and 2022 winner Kaden Reynolds was ninth.
Stock Car drivers winning sanctioned events that paid $750 or more since last September were eligible to qualify for the B & B All-Star Invitational, while winners of events paying $5,000 or more received automatic starting spots.
McBirnie became the first driver to make himself eligible for the 2025 B & B All-Star Invitational.
SPEED SPORT.TV affiliate IMCA.TV broadcasts each night of the 42nd annual IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.
