Madden Won’t Be Denied In National 100

PHENIX CITY, Ala. – A 12th row starting position wasn’t going to slow down Chris Madden during Sunday’s National 100 at East Alabama Motor Speedway.

The Scott Bloomquist Racing driver stormed through the field, bypassing polesitter Tyler Erb to win the 45th running of the National 100. It was his second victory in the annual event.

Madden started 23rd in the feature after the transmission in his car broke during his heat race. It took him just more than half the 100-lap distance to chase down Erb, with Madden slipping by him on the 52nd circuit to take the lead.

Once out front Madden was never threatened again as the South Carolina native held serve to pocket the $15,000 payday by nearly two seconds over Erb, who was forced to settle for second.

Devin Moran came home third, followed by Scott Bloomquist and Dennis Erb Jr.
