CONCORD, N.C. — Chris Madden made a late charge to win Thursday night’s XR Super Series late model feature at The Dirt Track at Charlotte.
Madden started third and passed polesitter Scott Bloomquist with three laps remaining to win the 30-lap main event and claim $25,000 on the opening night of the four-day Colossal 100 at the four-tenths-mile dirt track.
It was Madden’s third XR triumph of the season and his sixth overall victory.
Bloomquist held on for second in his attempt to win for the first time since 2020, while Jonathan Davenport, Ross Bailes and Chris Ferguson rounded out the top five.
Bloomquist was the fast qualifier for the 47-car field with a 15.401-second lap.
Baron McDowell won the 602 crate late model main event.
