TUCSON, Ariz. — Billy Moyer won for the first time in three NDRL Winter Extreme dirt late model events at Tucson Int’l Raceway Wednesday night.
Moyer started on the front row and led every lap, beating Brandon Sheppard to the checkered flag for a $3,000 score on the three-eighths-mile dirt track.
“We have got a heck of a good car here. You know to have just run it three or four times and have good finishes every time, I am very happy,” Moyer said. “The track is a little different here this year. But it’s been good. It was really good tonight with a bottom groove and a top groove and, you know, the car would go wherever I wanted it to go. It was really my race to give away.”
Chase Junghans, Jimmy Mars and Chris Simpson rounded out the top five.
Five-time World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Series champion Donny Schatz finished seventh.
