MASON CITY, Iowa — C.J. Horn picked up his first Malvern Bank East Series late model victory Sunday night at Mason City Motor Speedway, winning the Summer Smackdown.
The 20-year-old Horn held off Bill Leighton Jr. to earn the $4,000 top prize after starting fifth in the 40-lap event.
Dylan Thornton finished third, with Justin Zeitner and Corey Zeitner completing the top five.
