Gustin Grabs $50,047 Late Model Check

FARLEY, Iowa — Ryan Gustin earned the biggest victory of his dirt late model career on Saturday night at 300 Raceway.

Gustin banked $50,047 for winning the 47th Yankee Dirt Track Classic, which was sanctioned by the XR Super Series.

Gustin started the 60-lap main event outside the front row and chased polesitter Bobby Pierce through the early laps of the race.

Gustin made his winning move in lapped traffic on lap 17 and paced the remainder of the way for the biggest payday of his career.

Pierce, the winningest driver in the country this season, finished second.

Ethan Dotson, Tyler Bruening and Brian Shirley completed the top five.

Pierce was the fast qualifier for the 25-car field with a lap of 14.485 seconds.
