TUCSON, Ariz. — Ryan Gustin led every lap to win Sunday’s finale of the second annual NDRL Winter Extreme dirt late model series at Tucson Int’l Raceway.
Gustin started outside the front row and got the jump on Chris Simpson to take the lead en route to the $10,000 top prize, which he called the biggest victory of his career.
“We’ve won a lot of race in the mod, but this tops all those because of the cars here,” Gustin said.
Shane Clanton came on strong at the end of the event to finish second with John Blankenship, A.J. Diemel and Kent Robinson rounding out the top five.
Gustin was the sixth different winner during the six-race Winter Extreme series at the three-eighths-mile dirt track.
